Looking for Christmas gift ideas? These are so fun to make! My kids love making these every year and enjoying giving them as Christmas gifts. Its such a special gift because it’s homemade and super cute! People are always looking for do-it-yourself Christmas ideas and this one is really easy, even if you aren’t a crafty person.
If you can’t find the exact chocolate bars shown here you can use others that are similar in size. I like to use Christmas colors like red, green and gold. Even silver rapping is nice! You can also switch up the candy canes to different flavours. There are so many varieties of candy canes now! The old fashioned peppermint are my favourite but the newer ones are nice becasue you get some different colors.
I hope you enjoy making these as much as we did! Homemade Christmas gifts are the best becasue they are made with love and people spend time making them for someone they care about. That is the true meaning of Christmas!
Items needed:
- Kit Kat bars
- Candy canes
- Hershey Mini’s (I used the Christmas Edition)
- Ribbon and bows
- Hot glue gun and two glue sticks (or liquid glue)
How to make it:
Mark two lines on the bottom of the Kit Kat bars, this is where you will attach the Candy Canes. Run a line of hot glue on your marks and attach the candy canes, do this one at a time and let them set up for a minute.
Put a drop of hot glue on the edges of the Hershey Mini’s wrappers and attach them to the Kit Kat bars. Stack them in a pyramid with 4 side by side, then 3, then 2, then 1. Let this set for a minute.
Tie a pretty piece of ribbon around the sled, and tape the ends to the bottom of the sled, (don’t use hot glue on the ribbon…)
Add a ribbon to the top! Viola~~ a cute and edible gift!
*Note: You could probably use liquid glue instead a hot glue gun, but I don’t think it would hold together as well
